Is Influencer Marketing really works ?

In todays era of digital marketing and more and more people surfing and buying product online , there is surely a need of community . The community leads to establish opinion leaders and those opinion leaders these days are called as “influencer” . What is the meaning of the word called as ” Influencer ” . Influencer is surely one who influences your thought process , action , beliefs and perhaps opinion about particular product or services or personality or opinions .

The social media has started this phenomenon called as ” Followers ” where they are people who follows you on various social media platforms . As in Facebook we use to have this feature called as to add friends and initially there was a “Friend List” and now that ” Friend list” has changed its shape from ” friends list ” to ” Followers List” . As we speak I see that there is a difference between friends list and followers list and your friends may or may not be your follower and your follower may or may not be your friend .

The followers are those who follow you because they are fascinated towards your knowledge, behavior , action or understanding of products. If we start mixing the both then the essence of influencer is defeated . If we start requesting our friends to follow us than that may just a favour but not genuine follower or if we start going into that kind of prisoners dilemma that you follow me I follow you , in that case also the purpose is defeated .

Influencer marketing works when we don’t follow the conventional route of doing favour and ensuring that people genuinely follow you because they are influenced by your capabilities of influencing their decisions or it can be as small as that they like the content which you post .
